Abia State International Airport is currently under construction. Until it opens, the most convenient airports for reaching Abia State are:
- Sam Mbakwe International Cargo Airport, Owerri (Imo State) — approximately 65 km from Aba, the closest currently operational airport.
- Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu — approximately 130 km from Aba, with more frequent domestic and some international services.
